The Stylish Travelista

The more I think about my love for travel and style, the more I realize I have certainly inherited those from my parents! Being young in the difficult 80s and 90s in one complicated Eastern Europe, they have always traveled as far as they could go, captioning every precious moment of every beautiful place on  Earth they could see! Both fascinated with culture, architecture, nature and fashion! And they have always taken me and my sister with them on their journeys from the moment we have learned how to walk and talk! So Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Thessaloniki, Budapest and Prague are one of my most favorite memories growing up!

And here I am – a passionate traveler and a fashion lover – writing my first blog post on this cloudy 8th of March! The international Women’s Day! I believe that this is a day to celebrate strong, independent and beautiful on the inside and out girls, their dreams and success! I, for one am proud and happy to be surrounded with such girlfriends in my life! So that’s why I have chosen this day to be the Birthday of my new Baby – my Blog!

As an engineer I try to choose casual and modest outfits for the everyday look at the office. But my style is definitely dressy and girly and I somehow always manage to become the baby girl of the department! As Audrey Hepburn, one of the women I admire most once said:

“I believe in pink. I believe in manicures. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

I also believe that one should feel comfortable and cozy on a trip or a vacation and I always feel this way in a pretty dress and maybe some higher heels! I assume that this fact combined with my work situation has made me a stylish travelista! I even love being overdressed sometimes in my free time and when I travel. Of course I also have my casual and more of a street-stylish kinda moments, but you would most often see me wearing something elegant and girly! Currently I am also doing some Yoga and I love it very much, but dressing up is still my way to balance out hard work and the sitting-in-front-of-a-computer-all-day kind of office lifestyle.

As I said earlier I am constantly daydreaming! I somehow manage to multitask this with my daily business (sometimes I wonder, how haven’t I walked into a tree on the street yet!). And I am mostly daydreaming about holidays! Oh, holidays! I continually discover new white sand beaches, ancient cultures or mesmerizing cities in my head! There is this long Wish-to-travel-the-world-List I have been “working” on for the past couple of years. I am always planning my next trips and fantasizing about all of the fun and unforgettable things I could see and do while traveling!

Also I believe that every Cent spent on a nice hotel or a resort, which provides a feel of comfort and helps me relax on a vacation, is worth it! Recharging my batteries and inflating my soul with positive emotions is what keeps me going on in life and in order to do so, I travel! For me it is not necessarily the most important thing to see and do everything that is on a tour or a sightseeing guide, but rather really feel the place and enjoy the atmosphere (of course while looking my best, hehe). And I can only do that when I take a slow, easeful walk through a town square or sit a long time in a nice Café or take time to taste different types of typical food and drinks. I don’t believe in rushing through life! I believe in having breaks every now and then and taking a deep breath! I must admit, I even do not read travel guides really before going somewhere. I love exploring, so I mostly do just a tiny little bit of research and allow myself to get surprised from the new place! And in my experience these are the most wonderful and unforgettable vacations!

I am so happy that I have friends, family and of course a wonderful boyfriend who understand and accept my way of do things breezily, who are ready to share my passion for travel and patiently withstand my constant chatting about it!

So my dear readers, now it is your turn to join me on my journeys and I promise to give my best to keep you posted on my experiences! I realize this could be a bit hard tough, since I am just a hobby/part-time blogger-girl who has so many thoughts she wishes to share with the world, but unfortunately not always finds time to do so!

Anyway, welcome to my Blog and enjoy the Ride!

XOXO

Ivi
